MyWorld fellowship for Radstock

Delivering on the Culture and Creativity workstrand of the Future Ambition Board, Ruby Sant at the Old Printworks in Radstock is about to grow her team with the appointment of a MyWorld Fellow to focus on community engagement through music and sound technologies.

Working through Bath Spa University and Little Lost Robot, Ruby set up The Old Printworks as a cultural and arts space in central Radstock where the community could come together to create. The ultimate vision is an accessible community artspace, with free sessions daily including stained glass painting, maternal journal, M/Others in the library, Youth Connect South West painting sessions, lego club and Sunday Socials aimed at local teenagers.

This new Fellowship, supported by MyWorld, is an opportunity for a creator or artist to spend ten months working with Old Printworks Arts and Bath Spa University’s innovation hub ‘The Studio’, responding to Radstock residents’ desire to develop technical and creative skills in music and sound technologies (such as podcast production).

It is designed to trial new collaborative approaches by exploring the following research question: what is the impact of using creative sound and music-making methods to build long-lasting and sustainable community bridges between city centre and nearby rural creative hubs?

The paid, part-time Fellowship is s aimed at freelancers or sole-traders with a practice of music & sound technologies and experience in facilitating creative projects with communities.

If you or someone you know would like to learn more about the Fellowship please see the full advert here. Note the closing date of 16th September 2024.

This Fellowship is part of the MyWorld IDEAS programme, funded by UKRI. Read more about MyWorld.
