Funding secured to progress Bath Fashion Museum

Development funding of £768,000 has been secured from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to progress plans for the new Fashion Museum Bath.

Located in the historic Old Post Office, the museum will house one of the world’s most significant fashion collections, with over 100,000 items spanning 400 years.

The funding will support detailed design work, community engagement, and a future bid for a £7.2 million grant. The project aims to transform access to fashion heritage through new gallery spaces, educational programmes, and a sustainable online catalogue, reimagining the museum as a vibrant, high street cultural destination.

This funding supports activity taking place through the Future Ambition Board’s ‘Stronger Places‘ and ‘Creativity and Innovation‘ working groups.
