Bath-based agency Clearly PR has pledged to provide free public relations consultancy services to 100 certified B Corp businesses over the next 12 months, doubling the number it supported last year.
This initiative aims to assist B Corps in effectively communicating their environmental and social impact stories, addressing challenges such as media scepticism due to greenwashing and difficulties in crafting compelling narratives.
B Corp companies are great to work for because they prioritise employee wellbeing, and they’re good for the planet and society by balancing profit with purpose, committing to environmental sustainability and positive social impact.
Since its own B Corp certification in 2021, Clearly PR has been at the forefront of promoting responsible business practices. Last year, the agency offered 150 free hours of consultancy to 50 B Corps, many based in the South West, including Bristol and Bath. These businesses spanned various sectors, from beauty and fashion to legal and manufacturing.
Managing Director Paul MacKenzie-Cummins highlighted the growing number of B Corps in the UK—nearly 3,000—and the importance of helping these organisations share their authentic stories. He noted that media outlets have become more cautious due to instances of greenwashing, making it essential for genuine B Corps to communicate their efforts effectively.
Clearly PR’s consultations provide tailored advice on constructing newsworthy stories that resonate with journalists and the public.
By reaching its target, Clearly PR will have supported over 150 B Corp businesses in less than 18 months, contributing to a more transparent and responsible business landscape.
