A workshop between anchor organisations and other key stakeholders in the housing space was recently held to set out ambitious aspirations to improve housing options for people across the Bath and North East Somerset area.
The area suffers from a shortage of available housing, rising demand for homes, older housing stock that requires maintenance or is not energy efficient, and significant space pressures for the development of new homes.
This workshop was led by Curo who brought together over 30 other local organisations including the Council, universities, hospital, regional authorities, registered providers, housebuilders and designers to develop solutions for the ongoing housing crisis.
The event focused on developing a shared vision and strategic approaches to address the housing crisis, with participants actively discussing organisational development and collaborative efforts.
The outcomes of the workshop will help shape the work of a new Housing Mission Board, led by Victor da Cunha, chief executive of Curo. This board will continue to take a partnership approach to generate innovative and collaborative thinking, and deliver solutions to Bath and North East Somerset’s housing crisis.
